Where Are Vizio TVs Made? (And Who Makes Them?)

Vizio is one of the most popular television brands in the world.

You may wonder, where are Vizio TVs made, and who makes them?

Luckily, in this post, we’ll answer both questions in detail for you!

Where are Vizio TVs made?

Vizio TVs are designed in California, but since Vizio outsources its manufacturing, they’re made in Vietnam, China, Taiwan, Thailand and Mexico. Some of the companies they outsource to are BOE, Foxconn, Innolux, KIE, Tonly, TPV and Zylux who purchase the parts and assemble the televisions in their facilities.

This means, although Vizio is an American publicly traded company, the televisions are manufactured outside of the United States of America.

Most of the marketing, sales, and design are done within the country by Vizio themselves.

Who makes Vizio TVs?

As we previously mentioned, Vizio outsources it’s manufacturing to other companies like BOE, Foxconn, Innolux, KIE, Tonly, TPV and Zylux.

Let’s cover each of Vizio’s teams and where they’re located.

Design

Vizio’s design team is located in Irvine, California, USA.

This is where the Vizio team designs their televisions, keeping two important things in mind: customer experience, and cost.

And for those exact reasons, Vizio outsources their manufacturing and sourcing of the necessary parts.

The design team works with their manufacturers to design a product that’s quality, affordable, and easy to use.

Vivio designs its television very well, but like any other brand, they may run into problems such as turning on by itself, which can be easily be fixed!

NOTE: Vizio does not use only their technology, but relies on non-exclusive license rights from third parties.

Manufacturing

As we just covered, Vizio outsources 100% of their manufacturing to third-party companies which order the parts, build, assemble, test and ultimately package the televisions.

Here are the companies Vizio outsources to most:

  • BOE
  • Foxconn
  • Innolux
  • KIE
  • Tonly
  • TPV
  • Zylux

Most of these companies are located in Asia, specifically Vietnam, China, Taiwan, Thailand, while some are in Mexico.

Once the products are built, tested, and packaged, they’re first shipped to USA warehouses so they can be shipped to retailers throughout the country.

NOTE: Due to trade issues between the USA and China, Vizio has been forced to move some of it’s manufacturing away from China.

Marketing & Sales

Vizio sells their televisions to retailers, wholesale clubs, and direct to consumers throughout the United States of America.

Of these, the most popular sellers are the following:

  • Amazon
  • Best Buy
  • Costco
  • Sam’s Club
  • Walmart
  • Target

By selling mostly to big stores, Vizio has been able to keep their costs and overhead low, which has led to a lower price for consumers.
